While God promotes the humble, He abhors pride and opposes the proud. Pride in a man's heart says "I am god." But God, our creator, is a jealous God, and He will not allow any to share in His glory.
If we are to receive the benefits reserved for the humble, our lives and our churches must be characterized by humility. Let us renounce our self sufficiency, humble ourselves, and call on God for mercy and spiritual awakening in our state!
